Anant Rice Mills

Anant Rice Mills is over in District Ludhiana, right on Amloh Road. It is a busy stretch of road and we see a lot of traffic passing by all the time. Being in Ludhiana means things are always moving fast. We try to keep up with the pace. Our mill is a straightforward place. We have the processing area and then the storage space in the back. It gets pretty dusty, especially when we are running the hullers. We wear scarves over our faces to keep the dust out. It’s not the easiest work, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. My brother and I run things mostly. We argue sometimes about where to put things, but we always figure it out. The Amloh Road area has changed a lot since we first started. More buildings have gone up and the traffic has gotten heavier. We just stay focused on our own four walls. We don't have any big slogans or anything. We just mill the rice and load it onto the trucks. Sometimes a truck gets delayed, and we have to wait around for hours. We usually just drink tea and talk while we wait. It's just a regular life here at the mill. We are happy to be part of the community here and keep doing our job.
