Amrit Telecom

I’ve been sitting at this counter at Aarti Chowk for quite some time now. People usually find us easily because of the 2 -37 B sign, though the paint is peeling a bit these days. Amrit Telecom isn't a fancy place with glass walls or air conditioning that freezes you out. It’s just a shop where we handle mobile stuff. Sometimes the fans make too much noise, but they keep the air moving during the Charkop afternoons. I started this because I liked messing with gadgets back in school. Now, I mostly deal with screen protectors and people asking why their internet is slow. It’s a busy corner. You see all sorts of folks passing by Aarti Chowk every morning. Some stop for a quick recharge, others just want to complain about their battery life. We have a small stool for people to sit while they wait. My nephew helps out sometimes when he isn't busy with his own things. We keep the shelves stocked with whatever basics people might need for their phones. It gets dusty pretty fast around here, so I spend a good chunk of my morning with a rag, wiping down the display cases. It isn’t glamorous work, but it keeps the lights on and I get to talk to my neighbors. If you’re walking past the 2 -37 B block, you’ll probably see me sitting there, likely checking some old handset or talking to the chai wala from next door.
