Tamarind The Food Lounge

You can find us at the Aashiyana chauraha road, right underneath the Gold's Gym. We’re also quite close to the Spencer’s store, so there’s always people coming and going in this part of Lucknow. We call it a food lounge, but really it’s just a comfortable place to sit and eat. It’s got a bit more space than some of the smaller shops around here. We get a lot of people coming in after they finish their workout upstairs, which is always interesting to see. The staff is mostly local guys who have been around for a bit. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just open the doors in the morning and start prepping for the day. Sometimes the air conditioning acts up when it’s really hot outside, but we try to keep it cool enough. The menu has a mix of things that people in Aashiyana seem to like. It gets pretty loud on weekend evenings when families come out. We don't do much in terms of advertising, we just hope the food is good enough that you’ll tell your friends. It’s a straightforward business, nothing too fancy, just a part of the local scene here. We’ve been in this basement-level space for a while now and it suits us just fine. It's just a regular spot.
