Raj School

Our school is over in Indira Nagar, at 15/97. If you know Lucknow, you know Indira Nagar is huge and easy to get lost in. We are tucked into a residential block, so it feels a bit more private than being on the main road. The building is two stories and the stairs are a bit steep. We have a small courtyard in the middle where the kids stand for assembly. It gets very hot there in the summer months. The desks are wooden and have been around for quite a few years. We spend a lot of time organizing books and making sure the registers are up to date. The power goes off sometimes in the afternoon and we just have to deal with the heat for a bit. There is a small gate at the front where the parents wait at the end of the day. It gets pretty crowded around 2 PM. We do not have a big canteen, so most of us bring food from home and eat together in the staff room. It is a quiet life for the most part, except when the kids are on their break. You can hear them shouting and running from the street. The building is painted a light color, but it needs a new coat soon. We just keep things running as best as we can. It is a local place for local families.
