Play Way Academy

Play Way Academy is over in Vikas Khand 5, right in the Gomti Nagar area of Lucknow. We’ve been here for quite some time now. It’s a neighborhood school, really. We have kids from the nearby blocks coming in every morning. The building is an older style house that we converted into classrooms. It feels more like a home than a big institution, which seems to help the younger kids settle in better. We have a small yard out front with some swings and a slide that have seen better days but the kids still love them. In the mornings, the street gets a bit crowded with rickshaws and parents dropping off their children. We try to keep things organized, but it’s always a bit chaotic at 8 AM. Our teachers are mostly ladies from around Gomti Nagar who have been with us for years. We don't use a lot of high-tech gadgets; we mostly use books, charts, and a lot of drawing paper. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows and keep teaching. It’s just how things are here in Lucknow. We focus on making sure the kids are happy and learning their ABCs. It’s a simple place, not one of those massive schools with a hundred rules. We just do our best to look after the children while they are with us and keep the parents updated on things.
