M. M. Public School has been on VIP Road in Alambagh for quite a while now. Most people around Lucknow know this area because it gets so crowded with traffic during the office hours. Our building sits right there where the noise of the main road is always a bit present in the background. It isn't a massive campus like those fancy new international schools you see on the outskirts, but it works for the families living around here. We have the usual classrooms and a small area where the kids play during the lunch break. You can see the parents waiting outside near the gate around two o'clock every day. The teachers mostly live nearby, so they walk or take a rickshaw to get here. Inside, the hallways are narrow and the walls have some old charts hanging up from last year’s science fair. We don't have a lot of fancy gadgets, just the basic stuff like blackboards and wooden benches that have seen better days. The principal stays in a small office near the entrance where there is always a stack of papers and a half-empty cup of tea. It’s just a regular place where local kids come to learn their lessons. On rainy days, the ground gets a bit muddy and we have to tell everyone to be careful not to slip. Life goes on like this every week, and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the school bell and the sound of the auto-rickshaws outside.
