Cathedral School

Cathedral School is right in the heart of Lucknow at Hazrat Ganj. Being in such a central location means we are right in the middle of all the bustle of the city. The school has been around for a long time, and you can see that in the way the buildings are laid out. We have a post box number, P Box No 70, which we’ve used for years for all our mail. The gates are right on the main road, so morning drop-offs are always a bit of a scramble with the traffic. Once you get inside the compound, though, it feels much more peaceful. We have a courtyard where the students gather, and the tall old trees provide some relief from the Lucknow heat. The classrooms have high windows and heavy doors. We don't use a lot of modern jargon here; we just focus on teaching the children their lessons and making sure they grow up to be decent people. The teachers have their own ways of doing things, often based on years of experience in these same classrooms. We have a small playground, and the kids make the most of it during their breaks. It’s a bit of a landmark in Hazrat Ganj, and most people around here can point you to where we are. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just keep the doors open and the lessons going.
