Jwahar Salt Works

Running Jwahar Salt Works out of Shop No. D-92 in Jawahar Chowk keeps us pretty busy most of the year. Gandhidham-kachchh is a place that knows its salt, and we are right in the middle of it. The shop isn't much to look at, just a sturdy place where we handle the orders and talk to the drivers. It gets really hot out here in the summer, and you can almost feel the salt in the air sometimes. We have been in this spot for a while, and the people around Jawahar Chowk are mostly familiar faces. We deal with the bags and the logistics day in and day out. It's a lot of physical work, moving things around and making sure the counts are right. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just know where to find us when they need a load of salt. The trucks come and go all day, and the dust from the road settles on everything. We usually have the fan going full blast just to keep the air moving. It’s a simple business. We get the salt, we store it, and we send it out where it needs to go. There’s no fancy office or leather chairs here, just desks and stacks of paperwork. We like it that way because it’s honest work. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking the stock in the back. It’s a steady life for everyone involved here at the works.
