About Indian Hydrocolloids – Food & Beverages in Kutch
Down in the GIDC area of Gandhidham, specifically Mithi Rohar, you will find our units from 265 to 273. It is a big stretch of space because the work we do at Indian Hydrocolloids needs room. This part of Kutch is very industrial and the air always has that salty, dry feel to it. We deal with various gums and powders that are used in food and other industries. The warehouse floors are usually covered in a fine white dust from the processing, and the smell of the raw materials is something you get used to after a day or two. It’s hot work, especially during the summer months when the sun beats down on the GIDC sheds. We have a lot of local workers who have been with us for years. They know exactly how to handle the bags and the machinery without being told. We don't spend money on fancy signage or decorative gardens. Everything here is about utility. We have trucks coming in from the port and others leaving for different states. It’s a constant cycle of loading and unloading. The office is just a small partitioned area with a couple of fans and some old wooden desks. We keep our records there and try to stay cool while the machines hum in the background. It’s a gritty, hardworking environment but it suits us just fine. We just focus on the production and getting the bags out the door.
