Shree Ambica Salt Works

Our place is No.-10, Plot No.-38, inside Sector-9 at Chetna Chamber. Shree Ambica Salt Works has been here for a long time. Dealing with salt isn't the cleanest job in the world, so don't expect a shiny showroom if you ever come by. It is mostly just a lot of bags and heavy lifting. We spend our mornings checking the quality and making sure the trucks are loaded right. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but everyone in the sector knows where we are. The office is small and usually has a thin layer of salt dust on the floor no matter how much we sweep. We just get on with the work. We’ve got a couple of old fans that rattle in the corner. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desk, especially when the orders come in all at once. It can be stressful, but we like the routine of it. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of workers. It’s just a small team here. We know the drivers by their first names and they know us. Most days are long, but we don't mind much. Salt is a basic thing that everyone needs, so there is always something to do. We just keep the wheels turning and try to stay out of the rain when the monsoon hits. It's a living and it keeps our families fed while we manage the daily grind.
