We are Sant Kabir Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited. Our office is actually at Ram Ratan Dandwa’s place in Lahuradewakhalilabad. This area has a lot of history and we are just small-scale farmers trying to make a living. We don't have a big corporate building. Instead, we meet up at the house and talk about the grain and the soil. It is a simple life here in Khalilabad. We started this group because it was getting harder for each family to manage everything by themselves. Now we try to pool our resources together. Sometimes we spend hours just talking about the water supply or which fertilizers are actually working this year. Ram Ratan keeps the books and we all pitch in when there is paperwork to be finished. It is often noisy with kids running around and the usual sounds of the village in the background. We don't use big words or have fancy goals. We just want to make sure that the people growing the food are getting a fair deal. The roads can be rough and sometimes it takes a long time to get anything done, but we are patient. Farming teaches you to wait. We are just a bunch of locals who know the land and want to keep our farming traditions alive while using this company to stay organized. It is honest work and we do it together as a community. Every month brings a new challenge with the market prices or the rains.
