Sri Sharada Jyothi High School

Sri Sharada Jyothi High School is located right on the highway that connects Anantapur, Tadipatri, and Guntur, specifically in the Gospadu area of Kurnool. Because we are near the highway, there is always the sound of trucks and buses passing by in the distance. The school building is a simple one, built to handle the heat of this part of Andhra Pradesh. We have a lot of students who come from the surrounding farming communities. They arrive early in the morning, some walking quite a distance to get here. The classrooms are filled with the sound of teachers talking and the scratching of pens on paper. We have a small library and a space where the kids can sit during their break times. It’s not a fancy institution with modern architecture; it’s just a place made of bricks and mortar where learning happens every day. The staffroom is usually quite busy with teachers planning their next lessons or talking about the upcoming school events. We try to keep the surroundings as clean as possible, though the dust from the road always finds its way in. Life here is very practical and tied to the local rhythm of the village and the road. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure each class is covered as it should be. It’s a straightforward school for the local kids who need a place to study near their homes in the district.
