If you take the Yemigenur Road heading towards Mantralayam, you’ll find our school sitting right there. It’s a busy stretch of road, especially during the morning hours when the buses are flying by. The school itself is a straightforward place. We’ve got the main gate that stays open until the first bell, and then things settle down for the morning lessons. Being in the Kurnool district, we get plenty of heat, so the fans are almost always humming in the background. It’s not a quiet place by any means. You can hear teachers talking in one room and maybe some kids reciting their tables in another. The playground is mostly dirt, but it serves its purpose when it’s time for the students to get some fresh air. We have a small office where we keep the records and where parents come to talk about fees or how their kids are doing. The floor is made of old stone, and it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the roof. We spend our days making sure the kids stay on track with their studies. It’s a lot of paperwork and checking notebooks, really. Most of the people working here have been around for years, so we all know each other’s habits. It’s just a normal school life on the outskirts of Mantralayam, keeping things going day by day without making a big fuss about it.
