We are set up on Arya Samaj Road inside the Bhamashah Mandi at spot B 81. Being located right in the mandi means our work days start very early, often before the sun is even up properly. The whole place stays full of the loud sound of tractors and trucks moving around in the dirt. We deal with a lot of different seeds and fertilizers, so there are always heavy bags sitting on wooden pallets all around the shop. The air inside smells like earth and dry grain most of the time. Farmers come in from all over the surrounding area to get what they need for the next planting season. We spend a lot of time just talking about the rain and how the crops are looking this year. It is practical talk, nothing fancy or made up. The floor is made of concrete and usually has some spilled grain or grey dust on it, no matter how much we sweep it during the day. We have a small wooden table where we do the billing and sit for a cup of hot tea when things finally slow down in the late afternoon. It gets very busy during the sowing season, and we are often on our feet for twelve hours straight. We do not have a website or any big advertisements. People just know where we are in the market. It is a dirty, tiring job.
