Shri Hari Traders

Shri Hari Traders is situated right by the New Sabji Mandi in Keshavpura. Being in the market area means our day starts very early when the trucks are still unloading the vegetables. We deal in trading things like grains and oils mostly in larger quantities. The shop is more like a small warehouse with high ceilings and heavy bags of goods stacked up to the top. There is always a lot of dust and the smell of raw produce in the air because of the mandi being so close. We have a big weighing scale near the door that we use all day long. It is a noisy place with people shouting prices and laborers carrying heavy loads on their backs. We don't have any fancy chairs or desks here just a simple wooden table where we keep the accounts. The floor is concrete and it has some cracks from moving heavy barrels around over the years. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers and checking the daily rates. It is hard work and the summer heat makes it even tougher because the mandi area gets very hot. There is no air conditioning just a couple of big industrial fans that move the air around. It is a very basic operation but it keeps us busy from dawn until the market slows down in the afternoon.
