About Kasturi Beauty Parlor – Beauty & Salon in Kota
Down in Makbara Bazar Sati Chabutra, things are always moving. Kasturi Beauty Parlor is tucked right in the middle of all that action. I opened this place because I wanted something of my own. It isn't a huge space, but we make it work with what we have. I spend my days doing threading, facials, and whatever else the ladies in the bazaar need. The smell of the market comes in through the door sometimes—spices and tea and old wood. It’s a lively spot to be in. I have a few stools for people to sit on while they wait. Sati Chabutra is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business, so my shop is often a place for a bit of a chat. I try to keep it clean and bright inside. The lights are a bit flickery when the monsoon starts, but we manage. I’ve been working with beauty stuff since I was a teenager. It’s what I know. My hands are always busy. Some days I am here until very late, especially during festival time when everyone wants to look their best for the celebrations. I don't have a big staff, just me and occasionally a cousin who knows how to do henna. It’s a simple life, but it keeps me busy and pays the bills. If you're wandering through the bazaar, you'll see our door. It’s usually open to let a bit of air in.
