Avtar Singh & Brothers

Avtar Singh & Brothers is out on Baran Road in the Industrial Area at plot F 472. Being in an industrial zone means our surroundings are mostly factories and large warehouses, and there are always trucks moving in and out of the lane. We have a fairly large space to keep our inventory, and it is usually a bit dark inside because we focus more on storage than making it look like a showroom. My brothers and I run the place together, and we have our own way of doing things that might seem a bit disorganized to an outsider, but it works for us. We handle a lot of bulk orders, and most of our work involves loading and unloading heavy goods. There is always the sound of machinery or welding from the neighbors, so it is never really quiet here. We drink a lot of tea while we wait for the transporters to arrive, and we usually have grease or dust on our clothes by noon. It is a family business through and through, and we have spent years building up our stocks and getting to know the other industrial guys on Baran Road. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just use the phone and talk to people face to face. It is a tough environment but we like the work and the independence it gives us as a family.
