Travancore Medical College

The college is located right on the N.H. Bypass Road in Kollam. You can see the building from quite a distance when you are driving along the highway. It stays very busy here because of the hospital and the students walking around in their white coats. There is always someone coming or going. The wards are usually full, and the students spend a lot of time on their feet. Kerala weather means it is often humid, so the hallways can feel a bit sticky sometimes. We have many departments and labs spread across the campus. The canteen is a popular spot for a quick tea or snacks during the small breaks. Doctors and professors are constantly moving between the classrooms and the clinical areas. It is a large place to manage. We handle a lot of paperwork for the admissions and the hospital records every day. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when there are many visitors. The campus has some greenery, which helps a little with the heat. Students stay in the hostels nearby and walk to their lectures in the mornings. We do not have much time for fluff; it is mostly about getting through the clinical rotations and the exams. It is a practical environment where people are learning to be doctors. Life on the bypass road is fast-paced, and we just keep up with the daily schedule. Everything is pretty straightforward here, and we just try to keep things running.
