Amrita University has its engineering school right here in Amritapuri. It is a big place with lots of buildings and students running around all the time. You can see the engineering block from a distance. We spend a lot of time in the labs and classrooms. The atmosphere is always a bit hurried, especially when exams are coming up or projects are due. It’s not like those quiet offices you see in movies; there is always some noise from students talking or machines running in the workshops. We have people here from all over, staying in the hostels and spending their days studying or hanging out in the common areas. The walk between the different departments can be quite long, so everyone is usually in a rush to get to their next lecture. We don't have a fancy corporate lobby with leather sofas. It’s mostly just functional spaces where learning happens. The staff and teachers are usually busy with paperwork or helping someone out with a difficult problem. In the evenings, things slow down a little bit, but there’s always someone working late on a computer or finishing up a drawing. Living and working here in Amritapuri feels quite different because the campus is so tucked away. We focus on the daily routine of classes, labs, and making sure the equipment is working. It’s a lot of practical work and staying on top of the schedule so everything runs smoothly for everyone.
