Zakaria Fruits Company

Zakaria Fruits Company is right here on Madan Mohan Burman Street, at number 10/b. It's a busy spot, especially in the mornings when the crates start arriving. We’ve been handling fruit for quite some time now. Some days it’s mostly mangoes, other days it’s something else depending on what is coming in from the farms. The sidewalk gets crowded with boxes and people moving back and forth. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things sorted and sent out to the local markets. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we're too busy moving produce to worry much about that. There’s always a lot of noise from the street traffic outside. We keep our doors open most of the day to let a breeze through. You’ll see the staff carrying heavy loads or sitting down for a quick tea break when things quiet down for a minute. It is just how we do things here. We know the neighbors and they know us. The floors are concrete and get pretty messy with bits of fruit skins and wooden splinters from the crates. We sweep up at the end of the day, but by the next morning, the whole process starts over again. Being on Madan Mohan Burman Street means we are right in the middle of everything. It gets hot in the summer, but we just keep the fans going and keep working. That is basically us. We just focus on the fruit and making sure the crates get moved to where they need to go without much fuss.
