We are located at 14, Netaji Subhas Road. If you know this part of the city, you know it’s full of old buildings and narrow sidewalks. H4U Exports Pvt. Ltd. is on one of the floors of an old commercial block. The stairs are worn down from years of people walking up and down every single day. Our office is usually a bit of a mess with samples and shipping documents scattered around. We spend a lot of time on the phone or typing out emails to various people. It can get quite loud with the fans spinning overhead and the city noise coming through the open windows. We deal with various goods that need to go overseas, so there is always some sort of deadline we are chasing. The tea man comes around twice a day with his kettle, and that’s usually the highlight of our afternoon. We aren't some big fancy export house with a glass front. We are just a small team trying to get the paperwork right and making sure the containers are booked on time. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit and wait or talk until it comes back. It’s an old-fashioned way of working, but it’s what we know best. The walls are covered in old maps and calendars. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep everything moving forward as best as we can.
