Vikash Steel

We are located at 22 Strand Road. It is a place called Vikash Steel. If you know the area, you know it gets quite busy with all the traffic coming through. We handle steel here, mostly just dealing with what people need for their builds or projects. It’s a straightforward business. We don’t have a big sign with lights or anything like that. People just know where we are. The building has been there for a long time. Some days are slow and some days we can't even sit down because there is so much to move. We deal with all sorts of steel pieces. It gets dusty, and our hands are usually dirty by noon. That is just the way it is when you work with metal every day. We aren't trying to be the biggest place on Strand Road, just a place that does its job. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in traffic outside and that slows things down for everyone. We just wait it out. My family has been around this kind of work for years. We talk to the neighbors and keep an eye on the street. It is a basic shop. No one wears a suit here. We wear work clothes that can get grease on them. That is how we like it. It works for us and the people who come here. Most days we just drink tea and watch the river ships go by from the street corner.
