If you walk down P.W.D. Road, you’ll find us at number 12, right where the piles of iron and steel start to get tall. M.K Iron Steel Company has been at this location for years, and the ground is pretty much permanently stained with rust and grease. It’s a gritty business, and there isn't much room for being fancy when you are moving heavy beams and rods all day. We spend most of our time out in the yard, checking the stock and helping load up trailers. The noise of metal hitting metal is something you just get used to after a while. We don't have a polished showroom; if you want to see what we have, you just walk through the stacks with us. The office is just a tiny room with a couple of chairs and a ceiling fan that’s seen better days. We deal with all sorts of people, from contractors to local guys building something in their backyard. P.W.D. Road can be a bit of a mess with all the trucks, but it’s a good spot for what we do. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just the one that actually has what you need in stock. It’s hard work and the sun beats down on the yard, but we’ve built a life around this metal and we know our way around it.
