Bengal Steel Corporation

Our office for Bengal Steel Corporation is over at No. 28 Stand Road. We are up on the second floor. If you walk along the road, you can see the river isn't too far off. The building is one of those older structures that has seen plenty of people come and go. Dealing with steel means there is always something to talk about regarding sizes and weights. It’s mostly just us and the ledger books up here. The stairs can be a bit of a climb when you’re carrying things, but it’s part of the daily routine. Stand Road is always noisy with trucks and people, which makes sense for this kind of work. We have been here for a while and the walls are covered with old calendars and notes we’ve pinned up. It isn't a flashy place, just a workspace with some desks and chairs that have seen better days. The river breeze sometimes reaches us, but mostly it's just the smell of hot metal and old paper from the records. We’ve got a small fan that rattles on the desk, but it keeps the air moving at least. We get our work done and try to keep track of everything coming in and out. The light comes in through the windows in the morning, which is nice before the heat starts to pick up. We usually have the radio on low in the background. It feels like a proper part of the old commercial district.
