This office for Utkarsh Galva Ltd. is tucked away in Sree Colony over in the Regent Estate area. It’s a bit of a different setup since we are operating out of 2/109, and you have to know where you’re going to find us. Mr. Ankur Bhaumik is who you’d usually look for here. It’s a quiet part of Kolkata compared to the main roads, which is nice when you’re trying to focus on the books. We handle a lot of the administrative side of the galvanizing business from this spot. There’s always a pile of documents to go through and phone calls to make to the plants. The fans are usually humming because it gets quite stuffy in the afternoons. Sometimes the neighbors pop by to say hello while we’re unloading some samples. It’s not a huge operation at this specific address, but it’s where a lot of the planning happens. We keep things simple here. A few desks, some filing cabinets, and a lot of tea. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. Most people who come here have been doing business with us for years and know the shortcut through the colony. It’s a practical workspace. We track the shipments and make sure the billing is right. It’s not glamorous work, but it keeps the bigger machines running elsewhere. We like the pace here in South Kolkata; it feels more like a community than a business district.
