At 2-A, Shakespeare Sarani, things move a bit differently than they do out at the factory sites. This is where Usha Martin Ltd. has its main office space. The building is older and has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb if you aren't used to it. Rooms are filled with desks and people working on spreadsheets or talking to the different plants on the phone. It’s a lot of coordination and paperwork. We don't have those fancy open-plan offices seen in magazines; it’s more traditional with lots of files and old wooden furniture that's been around for years. Noise levels can get high when everyone is on the phone at once. Being here for a long time means we are used to the rhythm of the city outside. Shakespeare Sarani stays busy, so there’s a constant hum of traffic coming through the windows. Fancier lobbies or high-tech displays aren't really our thing. It’s just a place where the work gets managed. Most of us have been with the company for a decade or more, so the history is well known to everyone in the room. Daily tasks, handling reports, and making sure everything is running smoothly at the various locations takes up the time. It’s not always exciting, but it’s the kind of work that keeps the whole thing together. Staying on top of the details is what we do before heading home at the end of the day.
