Uic Udyog Ltd.

You can find Uic Udyog Ltd. on the first floor of the Anandlok building, Block A. We’re right on A. J. C. Bose Road, which is always noisy with cars, bikes, and buses going by. It’s a big old building and we’ve been here for many years now. We deal with industrial stuff, mostly parts and supplies for factories. The office is full of samples and old catalogs that have been sitting on the wooden shelves since I started working here. It’s not the most modern place you'll ever see, but it’s where we do our daily business. The lift in this building is a bit slow and shaky, so most of us just take the stairs to the first floor. It’s better for the legs anyway, especially after a long lunch. We have a few metal desks and a lot of heavy filing cabinets. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a clicking noise that we’ve just gotten used to over time. We get a lot of phone calls from suppliers and people looking for specific parts. It’s a steady kind of work that keeps us busy. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just provide what people ask for and try to keep the books balanced. The area is great for lunch because there are so many food stalls nearby. We usually just grab something quick like a roll and eat at our desks while we talk about the news or the cricket scores.
