You can find us at Ramkrishna Chambers on Shakespeare Sarani in Kolkata. It is a very busy street, as anyone who lives in this city knows well. We deal with forgings, which is heavy, serious work that takes a lot of coordination between different departments. Our office here in the city is where all the planning happens, even if the actual heavy lifting is done at the plants. It is an older building with a lot of character, and we have been in this spot for quite some time now. The desks stay piled with files and there is almost always a phone ringing somewhere in the background. We don't spend much time on decorations or fancy furniture; we are more concerned with the logistics of moving metal and meeting our deadlines. Kolkata weather can be a bit much in the monsoon, but the office is a steady place where we can focus. We have a lot of history in this city and we have seen the industry go through many different phases over the years. The staff here is a mix of people who have been with us for decades and some newer faces who are still learning how we do things. We don't have any mission statements on the walls. We just have calendars and charts that show where everything is supposed to be. It is a straightforward way of working.
