Our office is room 421 in Marshal House, located at 33/1 N. S. Road. It’s an old building with a lot of history, and you can feel it in the thick walls and the way the floors creak. We deal with tubes and pipes from this small space on the fourth floor. The lift is one of those old-fashioned ones with the metal gate you have to pull shut yourself. Sometimes it gets stuck, so we just walk up. N. S. Road is always packed with people and traffic, so it’s never quiet around here. Inside our office, things are a bit cramped with all the catalogs and samples we keep on the shelves. We have a few desks squeezed in, and the windows look out over the rooftops of the neighboring buildings. It’s mostly just us answering emails and talking on the phone to suppliers. We’ve been here for a good while, so we’ve gotten used to the hustle and bustle of the city right outside our door. There’s a small kettle in the corner for making tea, which is pretty much essential for us. We don't have any fancy decorations, just some maps pinned to the wall and a lot of binders. It’s a busy place, but we manage to keep things moving along. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the window frame, but we just put a cloth there and carry on with our day. We don't mind the noise or the age of the building.
