R 2 S Traders

You can find us in Tollygunge, very close to the Malancha Cinema Hall. It’s a crowded area of Kolkata, but we like being where the action is. R 2 S Traders is usually full of goods being moved in and out. We don’t have a lot of space, so we use every inch of the walls and floor to stack our inventory. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people going to the movies. Sometimes the smell of street food drifts in through the door. We started out small and we’ve stayed that way, focusing on local trading. The furniture in the office is a bit old, but it’s comfortable enough for a long day. We know most of the neighbors and the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a community feel where everyone helps each other out. Sometimes we have to move boxes out to the sidewalk just to make room to walk inside. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just talk to people face-to-face. If a customer needs something, we find it for them. It’s straightforward and keeps us busy from morning until the cinema lights go up in the evening. Life in Tollygunge is never boring, and we are just happy to be a small part of it. We keep our records in simple notebooks and try to stay organized as best as we can in the middle of all the daily hustle.
