You can find us at No. 7 Justice Chandra Madhab Road. It’s where we handle the local operations for Philips Electronics India Ltd. The office isn't anything you’d see in a magazine. It’s just a practical space with desks, some old filing cabinets, and a lot of computers. We deal with all sorts of things, from light bulbs to kitchen stuff. A lot of our day is spent answering emails and talking to the people who sell our products in their own shops. The road outside can get pretty jammed up in the evenings, so we try to get our deliveries sorted early. There’s a tea guy just around the corner who makes the best ginger chai, which is basically what keeps us going. We don't have a big corporate feel here. It’s more like a group of people who have worked together for a long time. We know each other’s families and what everyone likes for lunch. Sometimes the phones won't stop ringing, and other days it’s quiet enough to hear the fan whirring. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the inventory matches the books. It’s not a complicated life. We show up, do what needs to be done, and try to leave on time. It’s just a regular office doing its part to keep things moving. We’ve been at this address for quite some time and it feels like a second home to most of us by now.
