Spectrum Impex Kolkata

Our office for Spectrum Impex is tucked away in Ballygunge Place. If you know Kolkata, you know this is a neighborhood with a lot of history and narrow streets. We work out of 20/1/4, which is an old building that has seen better days but still feels solid. Most of our time is spent on the computer or the phone, tracking shipments and talking to suppliers. The rooms are often piled high with samples and shipping documents. It can get a bit cluttered, especially when a new lot of goods arrives. We have a small team here, and we usually share a pot of tea while we go over the day's tasks. The fans on the ceiling hum constantly to keep the humidity away. It is not a corporate headquarters with glass walls. It is a working office where we deal with the real world of importing and exporting. Sometimes things get stuck at the port and we have to scramble to fix it. That is just how the business goes. Ballygunge is a nice area, even if the parking is a nightmare. We like being here because it feels like a real part of the city. We aren't doing anything fancy, just moving goods from one place to another and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the month. It takes a lot of patience to deal with the customs paperwork, but we manage to get through it.
