Tirupati Metal Industries

Our place, Tirupati Metal Industries, is tucked away at 21/D, Joy Mittr Street. If you’ve ever walked down this road, you’ve probably heard the sound of metal clanging. It’s a narrow street, so getting the raw materials in can be a bit of a headache with the traffic. We deal with all sorts of metal parts. The workshop is usually quite hot, especially in the summer months when the machines have been running since early morning. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, if someone comes by, they just walk into the shop floor and find one of us. There’s grease on the walls and the floor is never really clean, no matter how much we sweep. We spend a lot of time measuring things. Precision matters when you’re cutting steel. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. It’s part of the job. We have a small staff, mostly guys from the local area who have been with us for a long time. We eat lunch together on the benches outside when it’s not too sunny. It’s a straightforward business. We take the orders, we make the parts, and we send them out. There’s no mystery to it. Just a lot of grinding and welding. We’ve seen the street change over the years, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We just keep working and getting things made.
