We’ve been here at 4, Bankshall Street for quite a while now. The building has seen many seasons, and so have we. Dealing with tinplate isn't always the cleanest job, but it's what we know. Most of the folks working here have been around for years, and they can tell you just by looking at a sheet of metal if it’s right or not. It’s loud in the yard sometimes, especially when the trucks are moving stuff around, but that’s just the sound of a workday. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. It's mostly just desks, stacks of paperwork, and the smell of industrial work. People usually come by when they need something specific, and we try to get them sorted without too much fuss. There’s a rhythm to how things get done here. It’s not always perfectly smooth, because machines break or deliveries run late, but we manage to keep things moving. It’s a solid place to work, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. You get used to the noise and the routine after a bit. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure the metal is handled the way it should be. It’s straightforward, really. No need to make it sound like more than it is. Just a bunch of us doing what we’ve always done here in the city, day in and day out, without any big fuss or complicated stories.
