Being so close to Dumdum Station means there is never a quiet moment around here. My place on Dum Dum Road is right in the heart of all that movement. I’ve been teaching here for a few years now, and the constant sound of the trains and the crowds has just become background noise to me. It’s a convenient spot for students who are commuting or living in the 700028 area. The room where I work is modest, with a few shelves for books and a table that has seen a lot of use. I didn't set this up to be a big institution or anything like that. It’s just me sharing what I know with the students who come through the door. Some of them have been coming for years, while others just stay for a term or two. We talk about their lessons, go over their mistakes, and try to get through the syllabus. It’s a lot of sitting and reading, which can be tiring, but it's part of the job. I like that I can just walk out and be at the station in minutes if I need to go somewhere. The neighborhood has a lot of little shops and snack stalls, so there’s always something to eat if we take a break. It’s just a normal, everyday teaching job in a very busy part of Kolkata.
