Our place is in Kolkata, West Bengal, zip code 700 017. Being in this city means you are always part of a crowd, whether you like it or not. The office here handles things for Tata Steel on this side of the country. It is not a very big space, but we have enough room for the desks and the old cabinets where we keep everything organized. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but nobody really has the time to worry about that right now. We are too busy keeping up with the daily tasks that come our way. Outside, the streets are filled with the usual Kolkata chaos—yellow taxis honking, people rushing to the metro, and the smell of street food everywhere. It can be a bit overwhelming if you are not used to it, but for us, it is just home. We start early to beat the worst of the humidity, though it usually catches up by noon. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at spreadsheets, making sure everything is moving the way it should. It is honest work, and we do it without much fuss. We do not have a fancy reception area or anyone in a suit greeting you at the door. It is just a group of us trying to get the day's work finished so we can get through the traffic and back to our families and our own lives.
