We are also located in the Kalimati building at 24/4 Alipore Road, but we are over in Flat 604. It is right near our other colleagues, but we handle our own set of responsibilities here. It is an apartment that we turned into an office space quite some time ago. Kolkata-27 is a very familiar area for all of us. The rooms are filled with desks and a lot of equipment for the daily steel operations. It is nothing fancy, just a functional space where the work actually happens. We spend our hours tracking shipments, talking to suppliers, and making sure the paperwork is in order. Sometimes the elevator in the building takes forever, so we end up waiting around a lot. It is a very human place. You will see personal photos on desks and half-empty water bottles scattered around. We do not have a big marketing team or anyone trying to make us look like a high-tech startup. We are just an office under the Tata Steel name doing the heavy lifting behind the scenes. The floors are a bit worn and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it does not stop us from getting the job done. We like the neighborhood because it is central but does not feel like the middle of a chaotic market. It is just a solid, dependable place to work every day.
