Up on the sixth floor of Kalimati Apartments on Alipore Road, you will find us. It is a nice area of Kolkata, pretty quiet compared to the main markets and the noise of the city. Being in Flat 601 gives us a bit of a view, though we are usually too busy with spreadsheets to look out the window much. This is not a factory; it is where the planning and the phone calls happen. The apartment setup makes it feel a bit more relaxed than a standard corporate tower. We have a small kitchen area where we eat lunch together and a main room that has been converted into a shared workspace. It is full of cabinets and old ledgers. We handle a lot of the coordination for the steel works from this specific location. It gets a bit cramped when everyone is in at once, but we make it work somehow. The building itself is well-known around 24/4 Alipore Road. We have been here for a good while now, so we have seen the neighborhood change over the years. We are not here to impress anyone with a fancy lobby or a receptionist. We just have our tasks and we stick to them. It is a straightforward way to run things. Most days are just filled with the sound of typing and the occasional argument over who finished the coffee. It is a real place with real people working hard.
