You can find us on the 2nd floor of the building at 52-Chowrangee Road. Being in Kolkata, especially in this area, means there is always a lot of history around us. The building is older, with high ceilings and those big windows that look out over the street. Down below, the traffic on Chowrangee is never-ending, but up here it feels a little bit more separated from the rush. We’ve been operating out of this space for quite some time now. It’s not the most modern office you’ll ever see, but it has a lot of character and it suits the work we do for Tata Steel. We share the floor with a few other folks, and you often hear the lift clanking as people come and go. It’s a bit of a walk from the metro station, but the walk is good for clearing the head before the workday starts. We mostly spend our time dealing with files and coordinating with the plants further out. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s when we usually stop for a few minutes to talk about the weather or the football scores. It’s a simple setup. We don't have much in the way of decoration, just some old calendars and charts on the walls. It’s a practical place to work, right in the middle of a city that never really stops moving. Sometimes we stay late when the work piles up, but that is just part of it.
