Tata Steel

Over in Kolkata, we’ve got our office at 620/2B in Block O of New Alipore. New Alipore is one of those neighborhoods that has a lot of character. It’s busy, but it still feels like a community. Our building is a standard brick structure, tucked into a street where you see a lot of daily life. Inside, it’s quite a simple setup. We have a few rooms dedicated to different tasks, but mostly it’s an open feel where we can talk across the desks. The fans are usually humming away, and there's always a stack of papers that needs sorting. We don't have a big corporate sign or a fancy entrance. You just walk in and you're there. It’s the kind of place where we know the local chai stall owner and the person who delivers the post. Working in Kolkata means dealing with the heat and the rain, and this office has seen plenty of both. The walls have a few marks, and the floor is a bit worn in places, but it’s a solid place to work. We aren't here to impress anyone with a polished image. We just do the work that’s needed for Tata Steel. It’s a practical environment for people who just want to get things done and go home. It’s honest and it’s local, which is exactly how we like it. The daily commute can be long, but we make it work.
