We’ve been here at Flat No 6 for a while now. Being on Dr S N Roy Road in Kolkata means there is always something happening outside. You can hear the traffic and people walking toward Menoka Cinema pretty much all day. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything like that, just a regular place where we get our work done. The stairs are a bit steep and sometimes the humidity makes the walls feel damp, but that’s just how things are in this part of town. Most of us take the bus or walk from the main road. If you're looking for us, we are right there in 3A. It gets quite loud when a big movie lets out at the cinema, but we've gotten used to it over the years. We don't have a big lobby or a front desk person sitting there all day. Usually, someone just looks up from their desk when you walk in. We keep our files organized in the back room and try to keep the fans running to deal with the heat. It’s a practical spot for Tata Steel Ltd to have a presence. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big signs. We just stay busy with our daily tasks. Some days are slow, especially when it rains heavy and the road floods a bit, but mostly we are just here, doing what needs doing in our little corner of Kolkata-29.
