Our spot is at B/3 in the Gostotala New Scheme over in Garia. Kolkata has a very specific rhythm and we are right in the middle of it here. Tata Steel Ltd has a long history with this city. This office isn't in a skyscraper in the middle of a business district. It’s more of a local neighborhood setup. We deal with the Kolkata side of things from this small building. Sometimes the heat in Garia is enough to slow anyone down, but we keep the fans going and stay on task. We aren't a big, polished operation here. It is more about the people we know and the relationships we’ve built over the years. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day. We don't have a mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just know what needs to be done before the day ends. The paperwork can be a bit much sometimes, but that is part of the job. We drink our tea, talk about the latest news, and make sure the steel orders for the region are moving along. It is a simple way of working. We have been in Garia for a long time and we like the way things are. It’s not about being the biggest or the loudest, it’s just about being reliable and getting the work out the door.
