We are located at 6 Ishwar Chowdhury Road in Kolkata. It’s an older part of the city, and the streets around here can get quite narrow, especially when the rain starts. We've been operating out of this spot for some time. There are about ten of us in the main office area, mostly handling the logistics of the steel orders. It's not the kind of place you'd visit for a tour, it’s just where the work happens. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. Kolkata 700029 is a lively area, so there is always something going on outside our windows. We hear the trams and the cars all day long. Lunch is usually someone bringing in something from home or grabbing food from the local vendors nearby. We don't have a big corporate cafeteria or anything. We just sit at our desks, talk about what needs to be shipped, and make sure the numbers match up. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking lists. We’ve grown used to the humidity and the noise. Every person here has their own way of doing things, but it all gets done by the end of the shift. We aren’t trying to change the world, just keeping the business moving as it should. Sometimes we stay late when a shipment is behind, but usually, we head home to our families once the sun goes down. It's a steady life and we like the neighborhood.
