Tata Ryerson Limited

Tata Ryerson Limited has a bit of a unique setup here in Kolkata. We are located on the first floor of the Indian Air Force A1/1 building, which is the Sqn Ldr Sk Pandey Officer Residence. It’s right on Ballyganj Circular Road. Because it’s an officer’s residence area, things are a bit more structured around here. You can’t just wander in like a shop on the street. It’s a quiet building mostly. Our office space on the first floor is where we handle all our affairs. We’ve got some desks set up and the usual office equipment. It feels a bit more formal than a regular house but still has that lived-in quality. The trees along Ballyganj Circular Road give us a bit of shade, which is nice when it gets hot in the city. We spend our days going through the mail and working on our computers. It’s a steady pace of work. We don't have any big marketing displays or fancy reception areas. Just a place to sit and do the job. Sometimes the security at the entrance asks a few questions, but that’s just part of being in this kind of location. It’s a safe and solid place for us to be based. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the residence area. It’s a different vibe than the busy markets, but we like the focus it gives us.
