Our office is right on Chowringhee Road in the Tata Centre. If you know Kolkata, you know this building. It’s an old landmark and 43 Chowringhee is a busy spot. We handle steel processing here. Not the actual heavy smelting, but more like cutting, slitting, and managing the logistics of metal sheets. It’s a lot of coordination between the plants and the customers who need specific sizes for their own manufacturing. The view from the office is mostly the Maidan and the traffic down below. It gets noisy with all the horns, but you get used to it after a week or two. We have a lot of people coming in and out, mostly truck drivers checking schedules or sales guys coming back from the field. The desks are covered in spreadsheets and metal samples. It isn't a fancy setup, just a functional space where we get the work done. Lunchtime is usually someone bringing in rolls or eating at their desk while the phones keep ringing. We’ve been part of this street for a long time. Working with steel is straightforward—it’s heavy, it’s reliable, and it needs to be where it's supposed to be on time. We don't spend much time on fancy talk; we just focus on the load lists and the shipping dates. That’s pretty much the daily routine here in the heart of the city, just keeping the steel moving to where it needs to go next.
