Swastika Metal Elect. Co.

Our shop is at No. 32 Ezra Street, and we are tucked in at Shop No. 45. If you know Ezra Street, you know it’s the heart of the electrical market in the city. Swastika Metal Elect. Co. has been operating from this small stall for years. Space is tight, so we have wires, metal parts, and electrical components stacked almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where everything is kept. Most of our day is spent dealing with electricians and builders who need specific parts for their jobs. We don't have a lot of room for people to sit down, so most business happens right at the front counter. It’s loud and crowded on the street outside, with people pushing trolleys and shouting. Inside Shop 45, we just focus on the orders. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of our records are still written down in our old notebooks. It’s a very traditional way of doing things, but it works for us. The lights in the shop are bright so we can see the small parts we are handling. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us since we first opened the shop. It’s a basic, no-nonsense electrical business. We just provide the hardware and metal goods that people ask for. Ezra Street is a tough and busy place to work, but it’s our home and we know it well.
