Steel Industries

The shop is located at No. 9 Sunyat Sen Street and being right beside Poddar Court means there is always something going on outside. Steel Industries has been here through many seasons, and the walls show it. Working with metal is loud and dirty work, so the place isn't exactly sparkling clean, but it gets the job done. We spend a lot of time moving things around and making sure the inventory is where it should be. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time getting into the street because it's so narrow and busy near the court. We just handle the daily tasks one by one. There isn't a fancy lobby or anything like that. It's mostly just workbenches, tools, and piles of material. We have been in this spot long enough that the tea seller knows exactly how we like our drinks. Sometimes it gets a bit hot in the afternoons, especially when the machines are running, but we have a few fans going. People come in with all sorts of requests, and we just see if we can help them out with what we have on hand. It’s a simple way to make a living. We don't spend much time on the computer, mostly we are just busy with our hands. The street noise is just part of the background now. It's a solid place to be for this kind of work. We keep the side door open for a breeze. It helps to keep the air moving while we are cutting the beams.
