Sunanda Fly Ash Bricks

Sunanda Fly Ash Bricks is located in Aschitpur, right near the Khamargachi Railway Station. You can feel the ground shake a little bit every time the trains go rattling past on the tracks. We use fly ash for our bricks, so the yard has a bit of a grey look to it compared to the red clay kilns you see elsewhere. It’s a bit of a dusty environment, and we all wear scarves over our faces when the wind picks up. The station being so close is handy for the workers who live a few stops away. We spend the morning mixing the materials and then the machine presses them into shape. It’s a lot of repetitive movement, but you get into a groove after the first hour. The weather here can be quite damp, so we have to be careful about how we store the pallets. There isn't any fancy corporate structure here; it’s just a few of us managing the orders and making sure the machine doesn't break down. When someone needs bricks for a new shop or a wall, they just drop by the yard and talk to whoever is near the gate. It’s a practical way to run things, and it works for us. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, just trying to keep the yard running and the bricks moving out.
