Bricks & Blocks Manufacture

We've been at 87/1, Ripon Street for a long time now. The yard is usually full of dust and stacks of heavy blocks. Most days start early here because the trucks need to get loaded before the traffic on Ripon Street gets too bad. It’s hard work and it isn’t very glamorous. We spend most of our time dealing with cement and molds. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves right there on the spot. It gets loud when everything is running. People walk by and see the piles of bricks waiting to go out to different building sites around the city. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a small desk where we keep the paperwork and a place to sit when we take a break. It's mostly just about getting the orders right and making sure the blocks are solid enough. The neighborhood has changed a bit over the years but we're still here doing the same thing every day. Rain makes things messy in the yard but we manage. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone covered in dust near the back. We just focus on the work and keeping the stacks organized. There isn’t much more to it than that. It’s a straightforward business and we like it that way. Most of the guys have been here for years, so we all know what needs doing without talking much.
