Sunaina Laxmi & Co. is right on the ground floor of No. 34 Zakaria Street. Being on the ground floor means we see everything that happens on the street. It is a very busy area, especially during the festival seasons. We handle a variety of trade goods and financial stuff. The office is pretty cramped because we have piles of ledgers and boxes everywhere. We do not really have a lobby, so if you walk in, you are right in the middle of the workspace. It is loud, it is busy, and there is always someone talking. We have been here for years, and the building is quite old, but it has character. We do not bother with fancy renovations or expensive furniture. As long as the desks are sturdy and the lights work, we are happy. We know most of the shopkeepers on Zakaria Street. We share news and sometimes help each other out with small things. It is a community. Our work is mostly about keeping records and making sure the accounts are balanced. It is not very exciting to talk about, but it is what we do. We do not put on a show for anyone. If you need something, we just deal with it plainly. That is the way things are done at our place. It has served us well enough over the years and we do not plan on changing.
